Top ten of favourite books

Dutch literature is treated separately here. Each one of the following (listed chronologically) I read at least twice, some three to four times.
  1. Titus Lucretius Carus, De rerum natura (Latin, 1st BC)
  2. Johann Wolfgang von Gœthe, Faust I (German, 1808)
  3. Edmond Rostand, Cyrano de Bergerac (French, 1897)
  4. James Joyce, Ulysses (English, 1921)
  5. Ernest Hemingway, A farewell to arms (English, 1929)
  6. Louis-Ferdinand Céline, Mort à crédit (French, 1936)
  7. Ernest Hemingway, For whom the bell tolls (English, 1940)
  8. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, The lord of the rings (English, 1954-1955)
  9. Vladimir Nabokov, Pnin (English, 1957)
  10. Louis-Ferdinand Céline, Féerie pour une autre fois - Normance - D'un château l'autre - Nord - Rigodon (French, 1952-1961)
Note. The five titles listed in 10. as one book were indeed conceived by Céline as one continuing chronicle, which was to include Féerie III (to follow Féerie II a.k.a. Normance), abandoned after a few chapters.
